Florence M Cormier

Florence M. (Cormier) Cormier, 91, of Baldwinville, formerly a life-long resident of Gardner, died peacefully Sunday, October 21, 2018 in Alliance Health at Baldwinville, following a long illness.

            Born in Gardner on July 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late George and Cyrianne (Maillett) Cormier.

            Many years ago, Florence was employed by J.J. Newberry’s of Gardner and waitressed at local social clubs.

            She was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.

            Florence enjoyed the comfort of her home and the company of her family, baking, watching old time movies and reading the newspaper. During her years at the nursing home she spent her days in the activity room participating in as much as she could.

            She leaves her son, David J. Cormier and his wife Julie of Gardner; grandson, Brian K. Leger and his wife Cara of Leominster; one great-granddaughter, Sage Leger of Leominster; two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Cormier and Ruth Cormier both of Gardner; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

            She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Joseph Eric Cormier, who died in 1994; her daughter, Jeanne M. Leger; son-in-law, Roger A. Leger; siblings, infant twins Charles and Eva Cormier, Ernest Cormier, Emile Cormier, and twins Robert and Ronald Cormier; and sisters-in-law, Helen Cormier and Laura Cormier.

            Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 25th at 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner.

            Calling hours will be held Thursday, October 25th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

            The family would like to thank the entire staff of Alliance Health at Baldwinville and Dr. Tricia Vorderstrasse for the comfort and care they provided to Florence and her family.
