Fleurette G. (Beauchemin) Roy, 89, of 2 Carpenter Lane, Westminster, died peacefully Wednesday, July 8th in Wachusett Manor, Gardner, following a short illness.
Born in Gardner on March 5, 1920, she was the daughter of Victor and Louise (Fontaine) Beauchemin.
She was a secretary employed by the Gardner Housing Authority at Church Street for several years until retiring in 1982. She was previously a teller employed by the GFA Credit Union of Gardner for 10 years.
She was a 1938 graduate of Gardner High School.
Mrs. Roy was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. She enjoyed card playing, traveling with her husband, watching football and golf, but especially loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her husband of 61 years, Leo J. Roy, died in 2003.
She leaves a son, Paul L. Roy and his wife Karen of Ashburnham; a daughter, Susan J. Richard and her husband Robert of Westminster; 5 grandchildren, Jeffrey and Leslie Roy, Kristen, Matthew, Kaitlyn Richard; 2great-grandchildren, Evan and Lauren Roy; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 3 brothers, Roland, Herve and Raymond Beauchemin.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 14th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday, July 13th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary School, 135 Nichols St., Gardner or to a charity of the donor's choice.
