Fidele J. Legere, 86, of 118 Vernon St., Gardner died Saturday, October 11th in the Leo P. LaChance Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing, Gardner, following an illness.
Born in Jay, Maine, on May 25, 1917, he was the son of Fidele J. and Olizine (Arsenault) Legere.
He was a woodworker employed by S. Bent Bros. Co. of Gardner for several years until retiring in 1972.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church.
His wife of 55 years, Louise M. (Babin) Legere died in 1994.
He leaves a son, Leo J. Legere of Gardner; 1 daughter, Helene M. Lehtinen of Ashburnham; 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. A son, SP4 Emile J. Legere was killed on July 10, 1967 during the Vietnam War. He was predeceased by two brothers, Alfred and Albanie Legere and 3 sisters, Marie Rose Caissie, Bertha Boudreau, Emilie Gallant and Celina Henrie.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner.
Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
