Fernand J"Archie" Poirier

Fernand J. "Archie" Poirier, 69, of Royalston, died peacefully Friday, November 17, 2017 in Life Care Center of Leominster, following an illness.
Born in Rogersville, N.B. Canada on July 25, 1948, he was the son of the late Albert J. and Theresa (Vautour) Poirier. Archie also lived in Texas for a few years.
He was a metal fabricator employed by Raynor, Inc. of Westminster for several years, retiring in 2007. He was previously employed by Colonial Press of Clinton and Heywood-Wakefield Company of Gardner.
Archie was an avid woodsman, who also loved the outdoors. Hunting was his passion, and he enjoyed taking his family for nature walks. He was a member of the Pequoig Bowmen Club of Athol, which is dedicated to promoting the growth of archery and bow hunting.
Archie leaves three brothers, Paul Poirier and his wife Diane of Orange, Louis Poirier and his wife Sarah of Athol, and Raymond Poirier of Orange; one sister, Monique Poirier of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, Hector Poirier and John Poirier.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, November 22nd at 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday, November 22nd from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mass Audubon, and mailed to Fund for Nature, Mass Audubon, 208 South Great Road, Lincoln, MA 01771. Please reference in memory of Fernand J. "Archie" Poirier.
