Evelyn Tourigny

Evelyn E. (Pierce) Tourigny, 74, of Gardner, died peacefully Wednesday, June 23, 2021, in Wachusett Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner, after a battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Born in Gardner on April 6, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lorraine (Girouard) Pierce. She graduated from Fitchburg High School with the Class of 1965 and received a Diploma from Burbank Hospital School of Nursing, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and her Master of Science in Counseling from Fitchburg State College. Evelyn was a Registered Nurse employed by Baldwinville Nursing Home in Baldwinville for 17-years until her retirement in 2004.

Evelyn was a parishioner of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Gardner and a parishioner of Annunciation Parish of Gardner. She enjoyed traveling to new places and reading a good book. But the time that Evelyn loved and truly cherished the most was spent with her family.

Evelyn is survived by her husband of 52- years, Clement G. Tourigny of Gardner; three daughters, Michelle Tourigny and her husband Brian Turner of Middle Swan, Australia, Karen Lashua and her husband Raymond of Gardner, and Jennifer Russell and her husband Maurice of Winchendon; six grandchildren, Rebecca Lashua, Ethan Turner, Abigail Russell, Declan Turner, Madison Lashua, and Patrick Turner; two brothers, Albert Pierce and his wife Rita of Winchendon and Robert Pierce of Fitchburg; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 8, 2021, from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA, with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA.

Calling Hours will be held Thursday, July 8, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
