Evangeline (Leger) Friberg, 93, of 73 Sand Street, Gardner, died peacefully Wednesday, February 28th in the Leo P. LaChance Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Gardner.
She was born in Gardner, on July 28, 1913, the daughter of the late Jaddus and Emilienne (Cormier) Leger.
Evangeline was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. She enjoyed visiting with family members and was very devoted in reciting the rosary.
She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Viljo W. Friberg, who died May 3, 1999.
Evangeline leaves two sons, Wayne W. Friberg of West Boylston, Richard A. Friberg of Gardner; one daughter, Jo-Ann Gibson of Charlotte, N.C.; one sister, Emilienne (Bunny) Richard of Gardner; three grandchildren, Miles Gibson, Margo Gibson and Wayne J. Friberg; one great-grandchild, Declan McQueeney; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a twin son that died at birth, Robert Friberg; and by four brothers, Alyre (King) Leger, Hector Leger, Alphonse Leger and Alfred Leger; six sisters, Severin Claremont, Laura Leger, Alice Landry, Alfreida Davis, Loretta Caissey and Mary Leger.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3rd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, with a Mass at 10:00 am in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be Saturday, March 3rd from 8:30 am to 9:30 am.
