Evangeline M Doiron

Evangeline M. (Goguen) Doiron, 102, of Gardner, died peacefully at home Saturday, January 10, 2015, surrounded by her family.
Born in Notre Dame, New Brunswick, Canada on November 18, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Francois and Emilienne (Robichaud) Goguen. Her husband of 45 years, Alphonse A. Doiron, died June 24, 1986. She was predeceased by ten brothers and sisters.
She leaves two sons; Father David E. Doiron Pastor of St. Columba in Paxton, MA and Tom M. Doiron of Gardner and his companion Winni Tamillo and family; one daughter, Jeanne M. Doiron Peay and her companion Jim Kuszewski of Athol. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Evangeline moved to Leominster with her family in 1929 where she worked at Dupont Viscoloid Company, Inc. until her marriage in 1940 when she moved to Gardner. Over the years, she worked at Simplex Time Recorder Company and as a housekeeper at Heywood Hospital. She took care of others in their home until she was near 90.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner, and its' Ladies of St. Anne Society. Evangeline was a daily Communicant and an early member of the Eucharistic Adoration volunteers until she was in her 90's.
She lived a long and amazing life. She was very close to her family, her church and her French-Acadien heritage. She especially enjoyed her vacations in Maine and Florida.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 14th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 13th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
