Eva (Doiron) Richard, 84, of 54 Acadia Rd., Gardner, died Tuesday, March 28th in UMASS Memorial Health Care, Worcester, following an illness.
Born in Rogersville, NB, Canada on January 18, 1922, she was the daughter of Joseph H. and Mary Ann (Gallant) Doiron. She was raised by Joseph and Florence Pineau of Rogersville, NB, Canada.
She was a shipper employed by Simplex Time Recorder Co. of Gardner for 20 years until retiring in 1987. She was previously employed by the former Heywood-Wakefield Co. of Gardner.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. Mrs. Richard was a member of Golden Agers and A.A.R.P. She enjoyed bingo, camping and flowers.
She leaves her husband of 62 years, Pierre A. Richard of Gardner; 3 daughters, Gilberte Noriega and husband Harold of Phoenix, AZ, Irene Cormier and husband Ronald of Minto, NB, Canada, Carmen VanRensselaer and husband Leo of Gardner; 1 sister, Sylvina Caissie and husband Albert of Rogersville, NB, Canada; 2 sisters-in-law, Justine Doiron of Moncton, NB, Canada and Annette Pineau of Hartland, NB, Canada; 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Antoine Doiron and Fernand Pineau.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 31st from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner at which a cousin, Fr. Arthur Gallant of Dieppe, NB, Canada will concelebrate. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner at a later date.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be Friday, March 31st from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
