Eva M Girouard

Eva M. (Cormier) Girouard, 93, of Baldwinville, formerly of Gardner for many years, died peacefully Tuesday, September 18, 2018 in Heywood Hospital of Gardner.

            Eva was born in Notre Dame, N.B. Canada on September 29, 1924, the daughter of the late Napoleon and Melisse (LeBlanc) Cormier.

            She was employed by Ray Plastic, Inc. of Winchendon as a sealer for 20 years. She was previously employed by Collier Keyworth Company for nine years.

            Eva was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. She was also a member of the Eagles Aerie #747 of Gardner, social member of the Knights of Columbus, member of the Beagle Club, Deep Sea Club, Gardner Golden Agers and the Gardner Chapter of AARP.

            Eva loved and treasured spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

            She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Girouard, who died in 1980; son, Fernand Girouard, who died in 1969 and infant son, Donald Girouard.

            Eva leaves her daughter-in-law, Carmen Pellerin of Gardner; three sisters, Valida Richard of Natick, Diane Robichaud of Moncton, Canada and Viola LeBlanc of St. Antoine, Canada; five grandchildren, Michael Girouard, Lisa Leger, Daniel Girouard, Nichole Walker and Giselle Pellerin-Bowers; four great-grandchildren, Vanessa Ouellette, Jeremy Girouard, Mikael Girouard and Jason Walker; one great-great-grandchild, Zoe Ouellette; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by five brothers, Emile, Claurie, Emery, Leonard and Raymond Cormier; and by four sisters, Edna Gallant, Lena Cormier, Lorraine LeBlanc and Florence Cormier.

            Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 22nd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 1:00 p.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be held at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.

            A calling hour will be held Saturday, September 22nd from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

            Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
