Eva Marie Bourgeois

Eva Marie (Caissie) Bourgeois, 79, of Gardner, died peacefully Friday, September 1, 2023, in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, after an illness.

Born in Acadieville, New Brunswick, Canada, on October 2, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Placide and Marie Rose (Leger) Caissie. Eva was a Home Health Aide employed by the French Connection of Gardner for many years before her retirement. She was previously employed by the Heywood-Wakefield Co., Rutland State Hospital, Gardner State Hospital, and Wachusett Manor.

Eva was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish of Gardner, practicing at its Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. She enjoyed working on puzzles, taking trips to the casino, and, in her younger years, traveling to various places throughout the world. Eva’s pride and true love was family, treasuring all the special times together.

Eva is survived by her son, Kevin Bourgeois of Gardner; five half children, Timmy Bissonette of Baldwinville, Jason Bourgeois and his wife Heidi of Gardner, Becky Bourque of Gardner, Anne Arslan and her husband Erkan of W. Springfield, and Carrie Bourgeois and her wife Carmen of Baldwinville; a grandson, Kyle Bourgeois and his wife Vanessa; five great-grandchildren, Callie Cote, Jackson, Colson, Matthew and Brian Bourgeois; a great-great-grandchild, Luna Mercado; two brothers, Clorice Caissie and his wife Jeanette of Gardner, and Fidele Caissie and his wife Doris of Andover; a sister, Claudette Caissie of Cocogne, NB, Canada; a brother-in-law, Eli Bourque of Gardner; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Debra Ann Bourgeois; half-son, David Richard; a granddaughter, Dawn Bourgeois; and five sisters, Gerelda Bourque, Dorine Richard, Jeannette Robichaud, Diane Hebert, and Simonne Bourque.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA.

A Calling Hour will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
