Eva M. (LeBlanc) Allain, 87, of 69 Baker Street, Gardner, died peacefully Monday, January 19, 2015 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, surrounded by her family, following a period of declining health.
Born in Gardner on March 13, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Melina (Allain) LeBlanc.
Eva was raised and educated in Gardner. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
She was a telephone operator for the New England Telephone Company for several years, and later was employed by Simplex Time Recorder Company of Gardner as an assembler until her retirement.
Eva enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading and playing Sudoku. She loved to spend time sitting on her porch.
She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Edward A. Allain, who died September 8, 2010.
Eva leaves one son, David E. Allain and his wife Susan of Seattle, WA; one daughter, Teresa G. Allain of Gardner; one brother, Raymond "Pete" LeBlanc and his wife Doris of Worcester; two grandchildren, Lauren and Michelle Allain of Seattle, WA; several nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Gloria Thibaudeau.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 22nd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Thursday, January 22nd from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
