Ethel F. (Cormier) Cormier, 77, of Gardner, died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 7, 2011 in her residence after being stricken ill.
Ethel was born in Canada on December 31, 1933, the daughter of the late Edgar and Leonie (Goguen) Cormier.
Ethel graduated from High School in Canada and received her Nursing Degree with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for 35 years at various Commonwealth of Massachusetts State Hospitals, prior to retiring in 1992. She was previously employed by H & R 1871 of Gardner as an LPN.
Ethel was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Gardner.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren, tending to her flowers and received great pleasure from feeding and watching birds.
Ethel was predeceased by her husband Roger Cormier who died in 1968, and by her longtime companion, Kenneth Heebner.
She leaves one daughter, Debra A. Cormier and her significant other Dave Sheridan of Sandown, NH; seven brothers and five sisters; two grandchildren, Eric Cormier and Kyle Cormier; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves her former companion's five children, David Heebner and his wife Bonnie of McLean, VA, Paul Heebner and his wife Marjorie of Henderson, NV, Beth Kent and her husband Paul of Brookfield, Nancy Congdon of Rutland and Wendy Rosazza and her husband Thomas of Ludlow.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 12th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Monday, September 12th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
