Ernest A. Houde, 86, of 125 Connors St., Gardner died Monday, February 16th in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner, following an illness.
Born in Gardner on August 29, 1917, he was the son of Abdon and Rebecca (Croteau) Houde.
He was a sander employed by Modern Contract Co. of Gardner for several years, retiring in 1979.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church.
Mr. Houde was an avid fan of photography.
He served in the U.S. Maritime Service from 1943 to 1946.
He leaves his wife of 57 years, Pauline M. (Desrosiers) Houde of Gardner; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond Houde, Wilfred Houde and two sisters, Cora Fontaine and Betty Herman.
Funeral services will be held Thursday from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of
the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be Thursday from 9:00 a.m.
to 10:00 a.m.
