Eric J. Hamel, 36, of 46 Court Street, Winchendon, died suddenly Tuesday, June 5, 2012 in his residence after being stricken ill.
Eric was born in Leominster on October 16, 1975, the son of John A. and Nancy A. (Brigham) Hamel of Gardner.
He graduated from Oakmont Regional High School, Ashburnham with the Class of 1994. Eric was a member of the American Legion Post 193 of Winchendon.
At the time of his death, Eric was an apprentice electrician working for his father, John Hamel Electric Company of Gardner. He previously was owner/operator of Quality Clean-Outs in Winchedon.
Eric enjoyed boating and spending time on the water. He cherished his family, and loved spending time with his son Ethan. Eric was an extremely likable guy, and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents of Gardner, he leaves one son, Ethan J. Hamel of Winchendon and his sister, Zoie and their mother Harmonie Evans of Winchendon; aunts and uncles, Jeanne and Dick Bubnel, Pauline and David Lepkowski, Mary and Walter Brigham, Sally Swanson and Eleanor Burpee; one great-aunt, Pauline Robichaud; and several cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Amy-Marie Hamel.
Funeral Services and calling hours will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions for the benefit of his son, Ethan J. Hamel, may be made payable to Mr. and Mrs. John A. Hamel, 342 West Broadway, Gardner, MA 01440.
