Enrique deJesus, 61, of 509 Clark Street, Gardner, died peacefully Sunday, January 3rd, in his residence surrounded by family.
Born in Puerto Rico on July 26, 1948, he was the son of the late Obdulio deJesus and Leonor (Nieves) deJesus.
Prior to retiring in July of 2009, Enrique worked in the janitorial services department of Ajax Co. of New Hampshire. He was previously employed as a farmhand by the Country Hen of Hubbardston.
Enrique was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Fitchburg.
His hobbies included fishing and watching Spanish television programs.
Enrique leaves his companion of 40 years, Macaria Sierra of Gardner, and their children, two sons, Felipe deJesus and his wife Andrenna of Houston, Texas and Jorge deJesus and his wife Mary of North Carolina; five daughters, Araceli Torres and her husband Gillermo of California, Emma Barriga of Houston, Texas, Alicia Milian of Michoacan, Mexico, Nayeli Mendosa of Fitchburg and Rocio Hernandez and her husband Jorge of Gardner; sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 6th at 3:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Wednesday, January 6th from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gardner Visiting Nursing Association, Hospice Program, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.
