Emile J. Doiron, 80, of 5 Jean Street, formerly of 14 Sand Street, Gardner, died unexpectedly in his residence, Saturday, August 5th, following a short illness.

Born in Packetville, N.B. Canada on March 7, 1926, he was the son of Louis J. and Anna (Blanchard) Doiron.

Emile was a welder and truck driver employed by Rodney Hunt Co. in Orange for 10 years, retiring in 1995. He was previously employed by Goguen Transportation Co. of Gardner for 20 years.

Emile was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish, Gardner. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #396 of Gardner and the Acadien Social Club, where he worked as a bartender for several years.

He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, and also enjoyed playing pool.
He served in the Canadien Military Service during World War II.

His wife, Imelda M. (Boudreau) Doiron died in 1963. He leaves one son; Louis J. Doiron of Westminster, two daughters; Denise M. Melanson and her husband Rene of East Templeton, Diane M. LeBlanc and her husband Jim of Moncton, N.B. Canada, two brothers; Francis Doiron and his wife Denise of Packetville, N.B. Canada, Clarence Doiron and his wife Edith of Carters Point, N.B. Canada, three sisters; Mable Cormier of Fredericton, N.B. Canada, Melvina Richard and her husband Bernard of St. John, N.B. Canada, Emilienne Gosselin of Moncton, N.B. Canada, four grandchildren; Traci Rushia, Kelli Doiron, Jay Melanson, and Matt Melanson, two great-grandchildren; Mackenzie and Jaimieson Rushia. He was predeceased by four brothers; Arthur, Ernest, Albany, Albert Doiron and one sister Helen Goddin.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 8th at 2:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.

A calling hour at the funeral home will be Tuesday, August 8th from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
