Emile P. Cormier, 93, of 125 Connors Street, Gardner, died peacefully Wednesday, February 11, 2015 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner.
Born in Gardner on October 18, 1921, he was the son of the late George M. and Syrianne (Maillet) Cormier.
Emile was raised and educated in Gardner. He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
He was a United States WWII Army Veteran and received the Good Conduct Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon.
Emile was a machinist employed by Norton Company of Worcester for over 17 years, retiring in 1984. He was previously employed by GEM Industries of Gardner as a press-operator for 21 years.
Emile was a member of the V.F.W. Post 905, Ovila Case of Gardner, Gardner Golden Agers and the Gardner Chapter of A.A.R.P.
He enjoyed bowling, traveling, dining out and spending time with the Belliveau family.
Emile was predeceased by his wife Helen M. (Belliveau) Cormier, who died November 3, 1961.
He leaves one sister, Florence Cormier of Gardner; his Goddaughter, Donna Fontaine of Templeton; special niece Jackie Robichaud of Gardner; his longtime companion, Pauline Horan of Gardner; and several nieces and nephews. Emile was predeceased by three brothers, Ernest Cormier, Robert Cormier and Ronald Cormier.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 17th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner at a later date.
A calling hour will be held Tuesday, February 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
