Elsie E. "Liza" (Cormier) Tarmasiewicz, 94, of Westford, formerly of Gardner, died peacefully, Thursday, September 1, 2016 in her residence, surrounded by family.
Born in New Brunswick, Canada on May 28, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Pauline (Maillet) Cormier.
Elsie was employed by Gardner Screw Company as an assembler for many years, retiring in 1986.
She was formerly a member of St. Joseph's Church of Gardner.
Elsie enjoyed playing Bingo and she loved birds, especially red cardinals. She was a woman of strong faith and faithfully prayed the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. every night. Elsie treasured spending time with her family whom she loved dearly.
She was predeceased by her husband, Stanislaw "Stanley" Tarmasiewicz who died in 2010.
Elsie leaves two daughters, Marie E. Kane and her husband Terence J. of Westford, MA and Pauline E. Huffman and her husband B. Ray of Tucson, AZ; two grandchildren, James Huffman and T.J. Kane, Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Kane and T.J. Kane, III; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers, Alcide, Herve and Joseph "Skippy" Cormier and by two sisters, Lorraine Hurley and Lea Richard.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 8th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA with a Mass at 12:00 p.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Thursday, September 8th from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.

Elsie's family would like to thank Nashoba Nursing Service & Hospice, as well as a special thank you to Lisa Casey "Blue Eyes" of this establishment. We thank Ray and James for the time they afforded Pauline to be with her mom. To all her family and friends, who visited and brought her happiness, we thank you. A sincere thank you to Bridget and Michael Bogdanowicz of California for their gifts of comfort on behalf of the late Regina V. Bogdanowicz. Finally to Terry Kane, Elsie's dear son-in-law, who always kept her in good spirits with their special humor.
