Ellin B March

Ellin (Barry) March, 82, of Gardner, formerly of Royalston, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, February 24, 2018 in her home. She was born in Cambridge, MA on January 11, 1936, the daughter of the late Joseph Leo and Helen (Kearney) Barry. She graduated from Cambridge High School in the class of 1954.
Ellin spent many years as a homemaker raising her eight children, and was previously employed by BayBank of Waltham and the Internal Revenue Service of Andover. She was an avid reader who loved animals, crossword puzzles and time spent with her family at Moody Beach Maine.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick G. March, who died in June 2016. Ellin leaves behind eight children, Jeffrey March and his wife Leona of Groton, Kenneth March and his wife Judy of Wilmington, VT, Maribeth Thomas of Newport RI, Ellin "Pete" Amoling of Athol, Matthew P. March and his wife Tracy of Stow, Daniel March and his wife Maryann of Ashburnham, Michael March and his wife Donna of Bastrop, TX and Patrick March of Newport, RI. She was the proud and loving grandmother of 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She leaves one brother, Bruce Barry of Maine and Florida and one sister, Betsy Wood and her husband Warren of Concord, MA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ellin was predeceased by three brothers, Michael Barry, William Barry and Daniel Barry; and a sister Jean Gibson.
Funeral Services and burial will be held Friday, March 9th at 12:00 p.m. in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon MA. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to the Winchendon 'Wreaths Across America" Program, with checks payable to the Winchendon Wreath Fund, c/o Bridget Marinelli, 14 Winter Place, Winchendon, MA 01475.
