Ellen Barbara (Lampert) Monette, 88, of Gardner, died peacefully Saturday, October 9, 2021, in her home surrounded by her family after a period of declining health.
Born in Gardner on July 30, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Nathan and Elizabeth (Ryan) Lampert. She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1951. Barbara was an Administrative Assistant employed by Gardner District Court in Gardner for 23-years until her retirement in 1996. She was previously employed at Simplex Time Recorder Company for several years.
Barbara was a parishioner of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Gardner and a member of the Gardner Golf Club. She had many passions, including golfing, working on crossword puzzles, traveling, knitting and family sing-a-longs. She was an avid fan of all the Boston sports teams, especially her Boston Red Sox. The time that Barbara loved and cherished the most was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her three daughters, Janice B. Gray and her husband Alan of Gardner, Jean M. Evans and her husband Alan of Dallas, GA, and Julie A. Nordman and her husband Jack of Gardner; a son, James L. Monette of Gardner; nine grandchildren, Tim Monette, Colby Milligan, Alison Mann, Erin Durocher, Lynne Miller, Laura Donner, Melissa Ferguson, Bethany Salit, and Kate Nordman; ten great-grandchildren and one on the way; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 63-years, Leo H. Monette, who died in 2016; four sisters, Theresa White, Alice Lewis, Betty Gallant, and Patricia Boudreau; and four brothers, George “Buddy,” John, Richard, and Philip Lampert.
The family thanks all the nurses and staff at Central Care VNA and Hospice and our weekend caregivers for their loving and compassionate care of Barbara.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA. Funeral Services will be live streamed under her page on the funeral home’s website at (www.boucherfuneral.com).
