Elise Anne (Bastarache) Richard, 91, of 32 Hospital Hill Road, Gardner, formerly of 45 Greenwood Street, Gardner died peacefully Monday, April 20, 2015 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home of Gardner, where she resided for the past seventeen years.
Born in Bouctouche Bay, N.B. Canada on June 18, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Exeas and Marie Luce (Arsenault) Bastarache.
Elise Anne was a housekeeper for various local families for many years.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and its Ladies of St Anne Society. Elise Anne enjoyed cleaning, going to church and saying the Rosary.
She was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Gerard J. Richard, who died March 13, 1977.
Elise Anne leaves three brothers, Joseph J. Bastarache of Baldwinville, Arthur J. Bastarache and his wife Cecilia of Gardner and Jerome J. Bastarache of St. Antoine N.B. Canada; two sisters, Sister Regina (Premilia Bastarache) of the Queen of Heaven Solitude Order of Marionville, MO and Maria Cormier of Scoudouc, N.B. Canada; three sisters-in-law, Patricia Bastarache of Fitchburg, Hazel Bastarache of Gardner and Annette Bastarache of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers, Adrien Bastarache, Neri Bastarache and Romeo Bastarache; and by one sister, Angele Cormier.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 24th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery of Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Friday, April 24th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
