Elie J. Bourque, 92, of Gardner, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Born in Rogersville, New Brunswick, Canada, on August 19, 1932, he was the son of the late Henri and Domethilde (Babineau) Bourque. He was a carpenter employed by George Ouellet Siding Co. until his retirement.
Elie was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish of Gardner, practicing at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. He was also a member of the Acadien Social Club of Gardner. Elie was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing and found peace in his daily walks. His greatest joy was found when he was with his family, treasuring the times spent together.
Elie is survived by his three daughters, Bernice Ouellet and her husband George of Gardner, Jeannine Cormier and her husband Philip of Baldwinville and Denise Argue and her husband Andy of Palm Bay, FL; four grandchildren, Rachael Catlow, Angela Nelli, Michael LeBlanc and Matthew Cormier; five great-grandchildren, Blake, Miles, Dominic, Joseph and Giovanna; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Geralda M. (Caissie) Bourque, who died in 2021; and his siblings, Eloi, Thomas, Abel, Lorraine and Napolean Bourque, Regina Hache, Andrea Boudreau, Yolande Perry, and Eva Rioux.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, from the Boucher Funeral Home, 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA, with a Mass at 11:00 am in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA, will be held at a later date.
Calling Hours will be held at on October 18, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 am in the funeral home.
