Eleanor T. (Lajoie) Reynolds, 77. of 46 Bond Street, Gardner, where she has lived for the past 48 years, died peacefully Sunday, June 15th in her residence surrounded by family, following a long illness.
Born in Gardner on June 26, 1930, she was the daughter of the late William and Alice (Patenaude) Lajoie.
Eleanor was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner and Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Gardner and it's Sacred Heart Rosary Group.
Eleanor enjoyed the television game shows, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She liked to go out to dinner, and especially enjoyed time spent with her family and grandchildren. Eleanor was a very giving and thoughtful woman, who was always there to provide care for friends and relatives in need.
Mrs. Reynolds was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Gordon R. Reynolds, Sr. who died February 28, 2003.
She leaves four sons, Robert G. Reynolds and his wife Ellen of Lansdale, PA, William A. Reynolds and his wife AnneMarie of Hudson, NH, Gordon R. Reynolds, Jr. and his wife Jill H. of Shrewsbury and Keith A. Reynolds and his wife Gisele of Shrewsbury; one daughter, Brenda A. Delaney and her husband Thomas J. of Danvers; one brother, Roland Lajoie of Gardner; one sister, Irene Bevis of Gardner; nineteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Leo Lajoie and two sisters, Flora Lefebvre and Rachel Hawryla.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 19th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home are Wednesday, June 18th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
