Eleanor Carey

Eleanor "Ellie" (LaRosa) Carey, 68, a longtime Westminster resident, passed away on August 27, 2024.

Ellie was born November 6, 1956, in Newton, MA. She was predeceased by her father, John Joseph LaRosa, and Mary Margaret (Desmond) La Rosa of Waltham. Ellie worked at Lambda Power Supplies, US Postal Services of Wayland, and Microbiology Research Associates of Acton, but her favorite position was at the Maynard Public Library, helping town residents find just what they needed.

Since retirement, Ellie and her husband Ralph have been active gardeners and can most often be seen in their garden giving away the extras or at the library helping with the teaching garden. She belonged to many garden groups and book clubs.

Her family always came first. A phone call and she would be in Lunenburg for her son John and his wife Heather, and Thomas, Carlene, Ben & Tara or in Belchertown for her son Dustin and his wife Allison, and JD and Addie or in Rhode Island for her son Charles and his wife Haley, Lilah, Harlow, Violet & Everett and Ryder. She is also survived by her sister, Priscilla, and her husband, Warren Freda; her brother James LaRosa, four Brother in Laws, Andrew Giles II, James Carey, and his wife Valerie, of Billerica, Daniel Carey, and his wife Dianne, of Billerica, and Robert Carey, and his wife Pamela, of Attleboro; she has many nieces & nephews, grand nieces and nephews; 11 grandchildren who she will watch over from heaven forever.

She was predeceased by her sister Patrice Giles.
