Eleanor M Ambrose

Eleanor M. (Cunningham) Ambrose, 98, of 32 Hospital Hill Road and formerly of 104 Church Street, Gardner, died peacefully Sunday, September 26th in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner, surrounded by her family.
Eleanor was born in Gardner on August 17, 1912, the daughter of the late Harold and Ellen Agnes (Fitzgerald) Cunningham.
She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1930.
Prior to retiring in 1973, Eleanor was a Secretary and Bookkeeper employed by Simplex Time Recorder of Gardner for 14 years.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Gardner. Eleanor was also a member of the Gardner Chapter of A.A.R.P., the Gardner Golden Agers, the Gardner Women's Club and the Grange of Gardner. Her hobbies included golfing and reading.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Jeffrey Ambrose, who died October 24, 1988.
She leaves, two sons, David A. Ambrose and his wife Barbara of Lady Lake, FL and James J. Ambrose and his wife Alice of Westminster; one brother, Richard Cunningham and his wife Bonnie of Hubbardston; five grandchildren, Susan L. Piaseczny of Templeton, Glenn A. Ambrose of W. Warwick, RI, LeeAnn Kelly of Lexington, Renee M. Bright of Cumberland, RI and Jeffrey J. Ambrose; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by four brothers, Harold Cunningham, George Cunningham, William Cunningham and Edward Cunningham.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 1st from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Friday, October 1st from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
