Elaine “Auntie E” M. Manseau, 70, of Gardner, died peacefully Thursday, September 19, 2024, in Athol Memorial Hospital, Athol, after an illness. 

Born in Gardner on April 22, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Leo R. and Therese (Lavoie) Manseau. She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1972 and attended classes at Mount Wachusett Community College. Elaine was a care provider at the former Fernald School and other group homes in Gardner for several years. 

Elaine enjoyed making diamond paintings for others and going for rides; the ocean being one of her favorite destinations. She shared her love of music and took great pride performing in two plays, Man of La Mancha and the Sound of Music. She had a special bond with many and held close lifelong friendships. Elaine found herself at her best when surrounded by her loved ones. She will be remembered for giving the world’s greatest hugs, her infectious laugh and radiating with joy around the children. All those in her life knew that “You are loved.”

Elaine is survived by her longtime companion of 33 years, Wayne Fisher of Gardner; three sisters, Suzanne E. Gatton of Ayer, Lisa M. Johnson of Darden, TN, and Anne-Marie Gaskins and her husband Robert of Townsend; three brothers, Michael L. Manseau and his wife Janis of Gig Harbor, WA, Patrick J. Manseau and his wife Kathey of Lexington, TN, and Kenneth R. Manseau of Fort Myers, FL; two special ladies, Briana Rumery and Danielle Quinn, and several additional nieces, nephews and cousins. 

There are no services. A Celebration of Life will be held and announced at a later date.
