Elaine R. Kirwan

Elaine R. "Big-E" (Crowley) Kirwan, 64, of 29 Graham St., Gardner, died Saturday, March 19th in UMASS Medical Center, Worcester, following an illness.
Born in Gardner on April 4, 1940, she was the daughter of George A. and Elise T. (Robichaud) Crowley.
She was a direct care worker employed by Templeton Developmental Center for 12 years until retiring in 1993 due to illness.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, especially pitch. She loved helping people and her grandchildren. She was named Active Hockey Mom of 1984.
She leaves 3 sons, Wayne T. Kirwan and wife Jennifer of Winchendon; Shawn P. Kirwan and girlfriend Linda Ouellette of Gardner; Dean P. Kirwan and girlfriend Michelle Carey of Baldwinville; 1 brother, George A. Crowley Jr. of Gardner; 1 sister, Eugenie E. Crowley of Gardner; 3 grandchildren, Haleigh K., Logan P. and Abigal M. Kirwan; 2 aunts, 1 niece, 2 nephews and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 24th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, March 23rd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
