Edwin L. "Uncle Ed" Bennett Sr., 81, of 61 Lake St., Gardner, died unexpectedly Monday, November 29th in his residence.
Born in Ashburnham on October 13, 1923, he was the son of Fred and Laura (Tucker) Bennett.
Mr. Bennett enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, car racing, boxing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and served from 1948 to 1949.
He leaves 3 sons, Edwin L. Bennett Jr. of Templeton, Brian K. Bennett and Terrence Bennett Sr., both of Gardner; 2 brothers, Lorin Bennett of Winchendon, Henry Bennett of Gardner; 1 sister, Barbara Brouillet of Gardner; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Kris A. Bennett Sr. of Gardner, 2 brothers, Maurice and Harry Bennett both of Gardner, 2 sisters, Aline Bunker of Athol and Vivian Favreau of Phillipston.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 4th @ 2:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner. Following cremation, burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Saturday, December 4th from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
