Edward J. Landry, 86, of 1209 East End Ave., Pittsburg, PA and formerly of 152 Main St., Otter River and 19 City Hall Ave., Gardner, died Saturday, May 29th in his son's residence with whom he lived.
Born in Gardner on June 4, 1917, he was the son of Theodore and Melisse (Melanson) Landry.
He was a paper maker employed by Irving Paper Co. and Baldwinville Products of Baldwinville for 32 years until retiring in 1979.
He was a 1940 graduate of Worcester Trade School. He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church.
Mr. Landry was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and received the World War II Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He leaves his wife of 59 years, Pauline J. (Leclair) Landry of Pittsburg, PA; 2 sons, Peter E. Landry of Mystic, CT and Thomas M. Landry of Pittsburg, PA;2 brothers, Albert Landry of Gardner and Ulysse Landry of Colorado Springs, CO; 1 sister, Pauline Landry of Gardner; 2 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by 4 brothers, Herve, Alfred, Raymond and Lionel Landry and 1 sister, Lorraine Greenleaf.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 5th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
