Attorney Edward F. Krieger III, 62, of Ashburnham, formerly of Gardner, died unexpectedly Monday, December 28, 2015, in his residence after being stricken ill.
Born in Long Island, NY on June 9, 1953, he was the son of the late Edward F. and Lillian E. (Meyers) Krieger, Jr.
Edward attended Ayer High School, and in 1987 received his GED from Mount Wachusett Community College of Gardner. In 1994, he received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, and in 1997 his Jurist Doctor of Law from the New England School of Law in Boston. At the time of his death, he was practicing law at his firm in Fitchburg.
Edward enjoyed camping, playing chess, building model airplanes and reading Military and History books. He was also a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Edward was a member of the Aurora Lodge Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Fitchburg.
He leaves two sons, Edward F. Krieger IV and his wife Katalin of Athol and Kernan M. Krieger of Gardner; two daughters, Kirsten L. Loseman of Gardner and Laura A. Echeverry and her husband Victor of Clearwater, FL; his longtime girlfriend, Judith Hamilton of Ashburnham; one sister, Denice Krieger of Ayer; half-brother, John M. Krieger of San Luis Obispo, CA; half-sister, Katherine Krieger of San Luis Obispo, CA; the mother of his children, Linda Krieger of Gardner; eight grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his infant son, Kernan M. Krieger.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday, January 5th from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., followed by a service at 6:00 p.m. in the Aurora Lodge A.F. & A. M. of Fitchburg, 16 Thorndike Street, Fitchburg.
