Edward A."Eddie" Allain

Edward A. "Eddie" Allain, 88, of 69 Baker Street, Gardner, died Wednesday, September 8th in his residence surrounded by his family, following a long illness.
Born in Gardner on January 13, 1922, he was the son of the late Calixte and Emma (LeBlanc) Allain.
Prior to retiring in 1987, Eddie was an assembler employed by Digital Equipment Corporation of Westminster for 15 years.
Eddie was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran, and received the Good Conduct Medal, the American Service Ribbon, the European African Middle Eastern Service Ribbon with 4 Bronze Service Stars.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Ovila Case Post 905 of Gardner, the Otter River Sportman's Club and was a charter member of the Deer Club.
Eddie enjoyed watching sports on television, especially baseball. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and photography.
Eddie leaves his wife of 58 years, Eva M. (LeBlanc)Allain of Gardner; one son, David E. Allain and his wife Susan of Seattle, WA; one daughter, Teresa G. Allain of Gardner; two brothers, Norman Allain of Gardner and Donald Allain and his wife Claire of Woodridge, W. Virgina; one sister, Jeanne Hetnik of Baldwinville; two grandchildren, Lauren and Michelle Allain of Seattle, WA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph Allain and Andrew "Tonto" Allain and by one sister, Alfreda Ladroga.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 11th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Saturday, September 11th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
