Edmond J.G. LeBlanc, 82, of Gardner, died peacefully, October 25, 2014 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 55 Lake Ave North, Worcester, following a brief illness.
Born in St. Anne, N.B. Canada on November 22, 1931, he was son of the late Pius and Theotiste (Gallant) LeBlanc.
Edmond was educated in Canada and graduated from the Worcester Police Academy in 1967.
Edmond was a United States Army Veteran.
He was a Police Patrol Officer with the City of Gardner Police Department for 28 years. He was a member of the Massachusetts Police Association.
Edmond was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
He was an avid lobsterman, who loved lobstering in Newburyport, MA where he docked his lobster boat, the "Lobster Lil II". He held a commercial lobstering license and was a member of the Massachusetts Lobstermen's Association of Scituate.
Edmond was a member and one of the founders of the Deep Sea Club of Gardner, member of Trout Club of Gardner, Acadien Social Club of Gardner, Beagle Club of Gardner, American Legion Post 129 of Gardner, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 747 of Gardner.
He leaves his wife of four years, Lillian M. Vienneau of Gardner; two sisters, Cecilia Luehning of St. Anne, N.B. Canada and Mary-Paul Dionne of Montreal, Canada; four sisters-in-law, Irene LeBlanc of Bouctouche, Canada and Seminole Point, FL, Eva LeBlanc of St. Anne, N.B. Canada, Margaret LeBlanc of St. Anne, N.B. Canada and Joan Shaffer of Baldwinville; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by five brothers, Arsene, John, Alcide, Alban and Alex LeBlanc.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 29th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 29th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
