Edmond C. Karpowicz, 90, of Worcester, formerly of Gardner, died peacefully Friday, May 20, 2016.
Born in Gardner on March 4, 1926, he was the son of the late Henry and Blanche (Czajkowski) Karpowicz.
Edmond attended Gardner High School of Gardner. He was a member of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Gardner.
Edmond proudly served his country as a United States WWII Navy Veteran, Seaman First Class.
He was a machine operator employed by Simplex Time Recorder of Gardner for 30 years, retiring in 1989.
He was a life member of the VFW Ovila Case Post 905 of Gardner, member of the Lithuanian Club and past member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #747 of Gardner.
Edmond was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing and loved the ocean. He enjoyed trips to the casino, walking the track at Mount Wachusett Community College of Gardner and loved staying active. He treasured spending time with his family.
He leaves his companion of 25 years, Betty Ouellette of Gardner; one son, Stephan C. Karpowicz and his significant other, Alexi Eugenio of Washington, D.C.; two daughters, Lisa A. Karpowicz and her husband Montgomery Miller of Austin, TX and Karla A. Karpowicz and her husband Steve Anthonijsc of Gardner; one sister, Genevieve Dorkano of Milford, CT; one niece, several nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Mitchel Karpowicz; and two sisters, Mary Aalto and Wanda Karpowicz.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 25th at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Gardner.
