Edith M. (Meehan) (Cormier) Pratt, 93, longtime resident of Gardner, died peacefully Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Alliance Health of Baldwinville after an illness.
Born in Orange on May 30, 1927, she was the daughter of the late William and Olive J. (Page) Meehan. Edith was employed by several furniture manufacturing companies in the area including Standard Chair of Gardner and Kamenstein Furniture.
Edith was a parishioner of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Gardner and Annunciation Parish of Gardner. She enjoyed crocheting, travelling, picking berries and playing BINGO. Edith loved to bake and was known for her homemade Apple Pies. She was a homemaker who loved and cherished time spent with her family.
Edith is survived by her daughter, Carol Ness and her husband Fred of Nebraska; three sons, Aldege Cormier and his wife Nancy of Tiverton, RI, Dennis Cormier and his wife Cheryl of Sanford, ME and Neil Cormier and his wife Cindy of Shapleigh, ME; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a son in-law, William Hallett of Baldwinville; a sister in-law, Claire Meehan of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Aldege Cormier, who died in 1969; her second husband, Donald A. Pratt, who died in 2001; a daughter, Karen Hallett, who died in 2020; three brothers, Earl, Richard and William Meehan; and a sister, Patricia Mattos.
A Graveside Service will be held, Saturday, May 1, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in St. John's Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.
