Edith L. (Braun) LaFortune, 90, of 125 Connors Street, Gardner died peacefully Friday, March 27th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.
Born in New London, CT on November 20, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Francis J. and Caroline (Dick) Braun.
Edith graduated from Templeton High School, Templeton with the Class of 1937.
Edith was the co-owner and bookkeeper of Valley Florist in Gardner from 1958 through 1977. In her later years, she was co-owner of Twin Dancer Bait Co., she and her husband would create and sell fishing lures at Rietta Ranch in Hubbardston and also at various fishing shows.
Edith loved doing crafts, and traveling to her favorite city, Newport, RI.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard K. LaFortune, who died November 13, 1995.
Edith leaves one son, Joseph M. LaFortune of Miami, FL; one brother, George J. Braun of Baldwinville; a special friend, whom she considered like a daughter, Sheryl (Olsen) Fontaine; one grandson; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be held at a later date.
