Edgar J. Cormier

Edgar J. Cormier, 97, of 59 Eastwood Circle, Gardner, died Monday, June 20th in the Leo P. LaChance Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing, Gardner, following an illness.

Born in Gardner on January 8, 1908, he was the son of Henri and Elvina (Beliveau) Cormier.

He was a woodworker employed by the former Heywood-Wakefield Co. for 33 years, retiring several years ago.

Mr. Cormier was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

His first wife, Margaret (Lemanager) Cormier died in 1982. His last wife of 21 years, Wilma (LeBlanc) Cormier died in 2004.

He leaves 5 sons, Deacon Raymond Cormier of Tooele, Utah, Ernest Cormier of Kalispell, Montana, Robert Cormier and John Cormier both of Templeton and Roger Cormier of North Carolina; 2 daughters, Theresa Grant of Portsmouth, NH, Edna Caisse of Barre, 7 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by 2 brothers Joseph and Herve Cormier and 1 sister, Edna Bourque.

A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, June 23rd at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner at a later date.

There are no calling hours.

The Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner is in charge of arrangements.
