Edda M. (Laliberte) Gosselin, 89, of 32 Hospital Hill Road, Gardner and formerly of City Hall Avenue, Gardner and 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, died peacefully Monday, August 30th in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner, following a long illness.
Edda was born in Rumford, Maine on December 7, 1920, the daughter of the late Damas and Annie (Bisson) Laliberte.
Prior to retiring in 1964, Edda worked for several years in the factory of Hartshorn Manufacturing Company, Gardner.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner and it's Ladies of St. Anne Society. She was a devout Catholic, and prayer was an important element in her life. Edda was also a member of the Golden Agers of Gardner.
She enjoyed listening to Country music and playing Beano.
Edda was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Wilfred J. Gosselin who died September 23, 1984.
She leaves a special niece, Elaine M. Richard of Gardner and several additional nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Arthur, Leo and Robert Laliberte and by three sisters, Aurore DesBois, Yvonne Henry and Florence Drega.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 2nd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
