Eben J. "Flash" "Ted" Pardee, 95, of 9 Laurel St., Gardner, died Friday, June 21st in Heywood Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Charlemont, MA on April 4, 1918, he was the son of Raymond and Mary (Jensen) Pardee.
Eben was a shipper/receiver employed at Gem Industries of Gardner from 1935 until the factory was demolished in 2008.
Mr. Pardee was a 1936 graduate of Gardner High School.
He enjoyed woodworking and doing all types of home improvements. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.
Eben was a US Army World War II Veteran and received the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He leaves his wife of 74 years, Frances A. (Dembek) Pardee of Gardner; 2 daughters, Carol A. Alves and her husband Roland "Buster" Alves of Gardner, Janet E. Leadbetter of Templeton; 8 grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren and 9 great-greatgrandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Penrose Leadbetter, 2 sisters, Mary Wilkenson and Laura Rossbach, and one grandson, Mark Marland Jr.
There are no funeral services.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors' choice.
