Earle G. "Pep" Lucier, 82, of 62 Cottage Lane E. Templeton, died Saturday, October 24, 2015 in Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Gardner, with his family at his side, following a long battle with Meningioma.
Earle was born in Orange, MA on May 22, 1933, one of eleven children born to the late Henry M. and Jennie (Thompson) Lucier. He was educated in the Templeton schools.
He proudly served in the United States Army 4th Signal Corp in Germany during the Korean War, and received the Army of Occupation Medal-Germany, the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
He was a self-employed custom upholsterer for many years. He was a member of Holy Cross Church of East Templeton.
Earle loved the outdoors; he enjoyed planting large gardens and taking his sons and the neighbor boys fishing at the Quabbin reservoir. In his later years, he enjoyed traveling with his wife and their best friends, John and Denise Radigan, to Montreal, Atlantic City and Foxwoods. He also enjoyed family trips to Disney and Maine.
He leaves the love of his life, his wife of 62 years, Jacqueline (Gagne) Lucier of E. Templeton; four children, Christopher E. Lucier Sr. and his wife Lauren of Winchendon, Kathleen E. Cormier and her significant other James Marois of E. Templeton, Carla E. Martin and her husband James of Athol and Keith E. Lucier of E. Templeton; three brothers, Harold Lucier of Gardner, Nelson Lucier of Baldwinville and Lenard Lucier and his wife Pat of Templeton; five sisters, Helen Monette of Baldwinville, Ada LePage of Baldwinville, Francies Nelson of Baldwinville, Rosa Buzzel of Orange and Carol Eaton and her husband Doug of E. Templeton; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Pfeifle and her husband Brian of Winchendon; former daughter-in-law, Kimberly Wilson; ten grandchildren, Christopher E. Lucier Jr. and his significant other Cheyenne Adams, Chad E. Lucier and his wife Brenda, Casey E. Lucier and his wife Dawn, Michael J. Cormier and his wife Jennifer, Greg T. Cormier and his wife Melissa, Sean C. Cormier and his wife Jessica, Jason Martin, Jessica Lucier, Erica Lucier and Rebecca Lucier; fifteen great-grandchildren, Evan, Nicole, Marissa, Ava, Noah, Ryan, Hendrik, Nora, Alexis, Nicholas, Lily, Kennedy, Eli, Hannah and his best little buddy Reno; several nieces and nephews. Earle was predeceased by his brother Henry A. Lucier; sister Ruth Wright; and son-in-law James M. Cormier.
A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday November 4th at 11:30 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 25 Lake Avenue, E. Templeton. Burial with Military Honors will be held in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
