Dorothy I. (Gonthier) Leblanc, 90, of Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol, formerly of 104 Church Street, Gardner, died peacefully Thursday, December 27th in Athol following a brief illness.
She was born in Fitchburg on August 10, 1917, the daughter of the late Joseph and Winifred (Graft) Gonthier.
Mrs. Leblanc was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and its Ladies of St. Anne Society. She was also a member of the Gardner Golden Agers.
Mrs. Leblanc enjoyed knitting and playing bingo. She especially enjoyed time spent with her family, whom she deeply loved.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Ovila G. Leblanc, who died January 17, 1992.
She leaves two daughters, Ann-Marie Woodland and her husband John, of Tarpin Springs, FL and Claire D. Baublis and her husband Anthony of Gardner; one sister, Pauline Perla and her husband Robert of Leominster, MA; seven grandchildren, Jo Ann Leblanc, Kathy Robinson, Michael Woodland, Tracy Garchak, Anthony Baublis, Jr., Alan Baublis and Deborah Robichaud; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Leonard Gonthier and Reginald Gonthier both of Leominster and one sister, Imelda Moran of Lunenburg.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 31st from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday, December 30th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
