Dorothy Lena "Dot" (Campana) Dorais, 88, of 125 Connors Street, Gardner died peacefully Saturday, January 12, 2013 in The Highlands, Fitchburg following a brief illness.
Dorothy was born in Gardner on June 20, 1924, the daughter of the late John and Laura (Trembley) Campana.
She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1941.
Prior to retiring in 1980, Dorothy was the Secretary to the Superintendent of Schools of the Ashburnham-Westminster Regional School District for 19 years. She was also the Majorette Instructor at Oakmont Regional High School in Ashburnham for many years. Dorothy loved to travel, so after her retirement she became a travel agent, employed with Ashburnham Travel.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner. Dorothy was also a member of the Gardner Chapter of AARP.
She leaves her husband of 67 years, Roland Herve Dorais of Gardner; two daughters, Jeanne Blake of Gardner and Joanne Kennedy and her husband David of Rochdale, MA; four grandchildren, Scott Blake, Rebecca Leger, Tracey Swenson and Lori Ziobrowski; four great-grandchildren, Justin Blake, Evan Blake, Noah Leger and Anthony Andino.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 16th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 GlenAllen Street, Winchendon.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday, January 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
