Dorothy M"Dot, Dottie" Cormier

Dorothy M. "Dot" "Dottie" (Erickson) Cormier, 77, of 30 Norman Street, Gardner, died peacefully Monday, March 17, 2014 in the Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville, following a long illness.
Dorothy was born in Templeton on December 16, 1936, the daughter of the late Gunnar and Gladys (Bacon) Erickson.
She graduated from the former Templeton High School, Templeton with the Class of 1954.
Dorothy was employed by the City of Gardner for 20 years, first as a bookkeeper and later as a cafeteria worker for the Gardner School System. She retired in 2007. Dorothy was also co-owner with her husband of Lafayette Lounge in Gardner for many years.
Dorothy was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, sisters and family. She was a cancer survivor for many years and was very active in the Gardner Relay for Life.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Robert E. Cormier, who died March 30, 2009.
She leaves two sons, Neil A. Cormier and his wife Kathleen of Canton, CT and Deane R. Cormier of Gardner; one daughter, Nicole C. LeBlanc and her husband Daniel of Templeton; two brothers, Herbert Erickson of North Carolina and Keith Erickson and his wife Patricia of Phillipston; three sisters, Ruby Dembek and her husband Victor of Templeton, Sandra LeBlanc and her husband Timothy of Gardner and Beverly Chase of Baldwinville; one sister-in-law, Jane Erickson of Leominster; five grandchildren, Tyler and Mitchell Cormier and Daniella, Avery and Zach LeBlanc; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Gordon Erickson and by one sister, Shirley Hacket.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 21st from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Road, Winchendon.
Calling hours will be Thursday, March 20th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
