Dorothy D. (Cormier) Caissey, 93, of Gardner, died peacefully Sunday, May 22, 2022, in Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston.
Born in Gardner on November 28, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Cecelia (Couture) Cormier. Dorothy was an employed by the Fernald School of Templeton for many years prior to her retirement. In her retirement, Dorothy worked as a Home Health Aide for many years.
Dorothy was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. She was a member of the Gardner Senior Center. Dorothy enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting, and playing BINGO. She loved her pet cats—especially her favorite Mouse. Dorothy’s greatest joy was when she was with her family, treasuring all the special moments they had together.
Dorothy is survived by her son and caretaker, Steven Caissey and his significant other and her special friend Lucille Diemdowicz of Gardner; a daughter, Donna Hafen and her husband Eric of East Greenville, NJ; a grandson, Christopher Caissey of Templeton; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband of 67-years, Donald J. Caissey, who died in 2014; a son, Neil Caissey; and a sister, Lorraine St. Hilaire.
Graveside Services will be held Friday, June 24, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.
