Doris F. (Goodwin) Richard, 89, of 25 Acadia Rd., Gardner, died Thursday, November 10th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following a long illness.
Born in Gardner on February 26, 1916, she was the daughter of Fred G. and Annie (Demers) Goodwin.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and volunteered in the 'Poutine Factory' at its annual bazaar. She was a member of the Diocese of Worcester Curisillo Movement, Gardner Golden Agers and D.A.V. Women's Auxillary Chapter 70 of Gardner. She enjoyed spending time sitting on her patio.
Her husband of 48 years, Joseph R. Richard, died in 1993.
She leaves 1 son, Brother Paul Joseph Richard of Gardner; 1 daughter, Mary Anne LaFalam and husband Norman of Zephyr Hills, FL; 2 sisters, Pauline Vandale of Gardner, Annette Barrieault of Rockledge, FL; 1 granddaughter, Tracy Dunbar and husband Tony of Windfield, Iowa; 1 grandson, Kirt LaFalam and wife Stephanie of Leominster; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, greatnieces, greatnephews and several cousins. She was predeceased by 4 sisters, Flora Gagne, Esther Wheeler, Yvonne Casey, Besse Leclair and 3 brothers, Cleo "Johnny" LaBonte, Henry Goodwin and Alfred "Buckey" Goodwin.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 15th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday, November 14th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
