Doris M. "Dot" (Duplessis) Meunier, 89, of 13A South Main Street, E. Templeton, died peacefully Saturday, September 8, 2012 in the Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville, following a brief illness surrounded by her family.
Born in Gardner on June 9, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Cormier) Duplessis.
In her early years she worked in the offices of Florence Stove Company until 1949. She later owned/operated a daycare business from her home, "Tiny Tots" from 1960 thru 1969. Following her daycare business, Doris spent many years as a homemaker.
She attended the former Our Lady of the Holy Rosary High School in Gardner. She later attended the Presentation of Mary Academy in Granby, Quebec, Canada, and graduated with the Class of 1941.
Doris was a member of Holy Cross Church in E. Templeton.
She enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting and listening to music. She was an avid fan of the New England Patriots. Doris also enjoyed watching cooking shows and the news on television.
She leaves her husband of 63 years, Roger L. Meunier of E. Templeton; four sons, Denis R. Meunier and his wife Cathy of Winchendon, Maurice B. Meunier and his wife Elaine of Littleton, Kevin M. Meunier and his wife Lori of Baldwinville and Kenneth D. Meunier and his wife Kendis of Phillipston; one daughter, Bernadette M. Cormier and her husband Brian of Westminster; two brothers, Martin Duplessis and his wife Beverly of Templeton and Bertrand Duplessis and his wife Janice of Templeton; two sisters, Valerie Vallee of Linwood, Anna-Mary Durand and her husband Pierre of Ware; one sister-in-law, Judith Ashworth of Weare, NH sixteen grandchildren, Nolan Meunier, Nicholas Meunier, Andre Meunier, Monet Proulx, William Naylor, Sarah-Ann Byron, Stephanie Cormier, Chelsea Meunier, Anja Bernadette, Denver Meunier, Luke Meunier, Noah Meunier, Matthew Meunier, Shauna Ricard, Sammantha Dorais and Britney Ricard; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by five brothers, Reverend Omer Duplessis, Howard Duplessis, Rudolph Duplessis, Aldei Duplessis and Donald Duplessis; and by three sisters, Florine Duplessis, Marie Duplessis and Ruth Allard.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 13th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 25 Lake Street, E. Templeton. Burial will be in MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 GlenAllen Street, Winchendon.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Thursday, September 13th from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
