Doris M"Aunt Dot" Cormier

Doris M. "Aunt Dot" (Melanson) Cormier, 87, of 134 Greenwood Place, Gardner, died peacefully, Saturday, March 14, 2015 in Heywood Hospital of Gardner following a brief illness.
Doris was born in Gardner on December 12, 1927, the daughter of the late Alderic and Eva (Richard) Melanson.
She was employed for several years by Collier Keyworth Company of Gardner as an assembler, until retiring in 1989.
Doris was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
She enjoyed playing Bingo, shopping with her daughters, dining at Friendly's and playing Games of Chance. Doris' favorite holiday which she loved dearly was Christmas.
She leaves her husband of 64 years, Clarence J. Cormier of Gardner; four sons, Michael Cormier of Balsam Grove, NC, Gary Cormier and his wife Joyce of Gardner, Ricky Cormier and his wife Linda of Lunenburg and Kevin Cormier of Phillipston; four daughters, Nancy Girouard and her husband Rheal of Gardner, Cathy Leger and her husband Marcel of Gardner, Patricia Johnson and her husband Ovile of Gardner, and Rosemarie Norway and her husband Marvin of Gardner; one brother, Joseph "George" Melanson and his wife Mary of Fort Worth, TX; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one daughter, Denise Brewer who died in 2001.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 20th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery of Gardner at a later date.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 19th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
