Dorilla M. (Fougere) Richard, 85, of Gardner and formerly a resident of Hubbardson for 30 years, died peacefully Friday, January 14, 2011 in Legend Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner, following a long illness.
Born in Fitchburg on January 13, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Evangeline (Maillet) Fougere.
Prior to retiring in 1988, Dorilla was a Data Entry Clerk employed by Digital Manufacturing Corporation for eighteen years.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Gardner.
Her hobbies included playing cards, knitting and crocheting. Her favorite television shows were "The Love Boat" and "Wheel of Fortune". Dorilla was a great cook and enjoyed preparing Sunday dinner for her family, whom she loved to spend time with.
She leaves her husband of 61 years, Yvon T. Richard of Gardner; one daughter, Linda L. Nelson of Concord, NH; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Richard of Westminster; five brothers, Alcide Fougere and his wife Jeannette of Fitchburg, Roger Fougere and his wife Pat of Templeton, Neri Fougere and his wife Lorraine of Littleton, NH, Clarence Fougere and his wife Marie of Gardner and Donald Fougere of Boston; three sisters, Dorice LeBlanc and her husband Emery of Leesburg, FL, Marie Manca and her husband Charles of Gardner and Rita Plomondon and her husband Norman of Spring Hill, FL; one brother-in-law, Victor Maillet of Templeton; two grandchildren, Lisa Ostrander and Mark Richard; three great-grandchildren, Breanna Ostrander, Zachary Ostrander and Kylie Richard; one aunt, Irene Charbonneau of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one son, Dennis Richard, one brother, Raymond Fougere and by two sisters, Rachel Maillet and Irene Girouard.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 19th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday, January 18th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
