Dora M. (LeBlanc) McGrath, 80, of 65 Coleman Street, Gardner, died peacefully surrounded by her family, Sunday, October 17th in UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Dora was born in Gardner on May 13, 1930, the daughter of the late Alyre and Henriette (Pellerin) LeBlanc.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and its Ladies of Ste. Anne Society.
Dora's greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling to Canada and Florida to visit family. Dora was a dedicated participant in the Relay for Life Cancer Walk in Gardner.
She leaves her husband of 62 years, Alonzo L. McGrath of Gardner; one son, Roger W. McGrath of Winchendon; two daughters, Doris M. Alexander and her husband Frank of Jacksonville, FL and Lisa A. Du Bois and her husband Gordon of Gardner; four brothers, Hector LeBlanc of St. John, N.B. Canada, Albert LeBlanc and his wife Annette of Bouctouche, N.B. Canada, Normand and his wife Carol of St. John, N.B. Canada and Donald and his wife Gloria of St. John, N.B. Canada; five sisters, Noella Cormier of St. John, N.B. Canada, Oriza McGrath and her husband Gilles of Leominster, Clara Hobbs of St. John, N.B. Canada, Georgina Yoston of St. John, N.B. Canada and Dorina Boucher and her husband Ernest of St. John, N.B. Canada; one daughter-in-law, Linda Rahaim of Templeton; ten grandchildren, Heather Alexander, Krista Shattes, Tammy Nicholas, Jodi Sund, Eric McGrath, Jenna McGrath, Scott McGrath, Shawn McGrath, Jada Du Bois and Malik DuBois; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Ronald J. McGrath; two brothers, Normand and Yvon LeBlanc and by one sister, Lucina Osmond.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 21st from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Wednesday, October 20th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
