Dora G. (Mason) Janis, 80, of 201 Ellis Road, Westminster died peacefully surrounded by her family, Sunday, September 5th in HealthAlliance Hospital, Leominster following an illness.
Born in England on April 2, 1930, she was the daughter of the late George and Dora (Waring) Mason.
Prior to retiring in 1985, Dora was employed by Foster Grant Company in Leominster as a packer for 10 years. In her early years, Dora was a professional singer, and she and her husband performed professionally as a musical duo. In the 1960's, she assisted her husband in their business, The Georgine Music Studio.
She enjoyed spending time outside with her cat, shopping, traveling to Newburyport, MA, and dancing. Dora was a fan of the History Channel and Animal Planet on television. She also enjoyed spending time with the children in her daughters day care business.
Dora leaves one daughter, Vivien Forbes and her husband Robert of Westminster; one sister, Ida Buckley of England; four grandchildren, Jason LaFosse, Maegan Timothy, Shaun Diotalevi, Zachary Forbes; four great-grandchildren, Genevieve, Xavier, Isabelle and Augstin LaFosse; one niece, Christine Fose; one nephew, John Buckley; and several cousins. She also leaves her former husband, George Janis.
Graveside services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
