Donald R. Raymond, 74, of 42 Glen Road, Gardner died Saturday, October 20, 2012 in his residence surrounded by family following a long battle with COPD.
Born in Winchendon on August 3, 1938, he was the son of the late Arthur H. and Beatrice B. (Hoague) Raymond.
Donald was a carpenter with the Local Union 107 of Worcester for several years, retiring in 1993.
He was a United States Navy Veteran.
Donald loved old Country music, Big Band music, especially Glen Miller. He enjoyed watching Western movies on television and was an avid golfer. He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 30 years, and will be remembered for his love and zest for life and family.
Donald leaves his wife of 41 years, Elinor A. (Duke) Raymond of Gardner; and one brother, Philip Raymond of Gardner. He was predeceased by his brother, Normand Raymond and by his sister, Edith Lafrenier.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 25th at 11:00 a.m. in Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Wednesday, October 24th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
